The original hard enamel Cloisonné technique was perfected by the Chinese some 6,000 + years ago to make prestige ornaments. Cloisonné quality feature more as collectables than merely promotional gifts. Hard Enamel being a glass like material, the Cloisonné pins last for a lifetime and are collected for that reason.
